The Durham, 315 E Chapel Hill Street, Durham, Hotel, is hosting Swift Night Out on the rooftop on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Enjoy a front-row view as large swarms of chimney swifts begin to gather for their annual trip to South America and swarm, dive and roost at sunset into downtown chimneys. New Hope Bird Alliance will be on hand with scopes, binoculars, and information about how to protect these endangered birds and their habitats. Around 7 p.m., you should be able to see swifts flying, feeding and calling. Free and family-friendly! A portion of all food and beverage sales from this event will be donated to support New Hope Bird Alliance.Enjoy the Roof’s craft cocktails alongside a fresh NC raw bar and seasonal small plates for a good cause.
