Spanish Plus Language and Culture for Folks Over Fifty is a free, interactive workshop at the North Regional Library designed for older adults who want to practice their conversational Spanish and learn about regional traditions. Led by Oma, an instructor with over ten years of teaching experience, the session covers language basics alongside cultural topics like music, dance, and geography. This program takes place in the Children's Programming Room, making it a comfortable and accessible space. While the class is tailored for adults over fifty, it is open to any interested community members. Registration is required in advance by emailing dpeterson@dconc.gov, and parking at the North Regional branch is free and plentiful in the main library lot. This Friday afternoon class is an excellent opportunity to slip away for some quiet learning while the kids are in school, or to share with local grandparents who are looking for engaging weekday activities in Durham.
