Time: 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM

Venue: Offsite, Durham

Join us as we walk the trails of RTP while listening to audiobooks! After, feel free to join us at Drift Coffee Shop & Kitchen RTP for an optional discussion about the book and a chance to meet new people. This month's suggested audiobook is Altered Carbon by Richard K Morgan (available on Hoopla). If you have already read it, or would prefer another title, we suggest: Of Monsters and Mainframes by Barbara Truelove (available on Hoopla) or Area X by Jeff Vandermeer (limited copies available on Libby). This event is for book lovers, the book-curious, people who haven't been able to make time to read (or listen) for fun, introverts, extroverts, exercisers, caregivers pushing strollers, (leashed) dog owners, groups, singles, nature lovers, and multi-taskers! All paces welcome, please take breaks when you need them. We know it is easy to get transported to another world when listening to your book. Be sure to stay alert as we will be crossing roads and may encounter uneven pavement. While attendance is free, please register here to receive reminders and stay in the know for any updates. Free public parking is located on the deck just across the street at 3150 Elion Drive. We will meet at 3151 Elion Drive Durham, NC 27713. Questions? Email Elle at kfarmer@dconc.gov.

Roaming Readers: A Walking Audiobook Club!
Community

Roaming Readers is a community walking group that combines outdoor exercise with audiobook discussion along the trails of Research Triangle Park. This monthly meetup invites you to download a suggested sci-fi title, listen at your own pace while walking, and gather afterward at Drift Coffee Shop and Kitchen for a casual chat. This free event is highly accessible for parents pushing strollers, and leashed dogs are welcome to join the walk. You will need to download your chosen audiobook ahead of time through library apps like Hoopla or Libby, and bring your own headphones for the trail. Parking is available at the trailheads in RTP, and the group welcomes all walking paces with no pressure to keep up. It is a low-stress way to carve out some personal time, get moving outdoors, and connect with other local readers without the pressure of a traditional, formal book club.
