Join Wake County Public Libraries for a family-focused pop-up. You can sign up for a library card, check out items and return borrowed materials. Family story time is an interactive program with books, music, rhymes and movement designed to nurture pre-reading skills for young children. Family Story Time starts at 10:30 am. This program is free to the public thanks to Dix Park Conservancy donors.
Public Library Pop-Up at the Park is a free community event where families can access library services and attend an outdoor story time at Dix Park. Wake County Public Libraries staff will be on-site to issue library cards, check out books, and accept returns of borrowed materials. What to Know: This event is designed for toddlers and preschoolers, though older siblings are welcome. It is completely free to attend, with story time beginning at 10:30 AM. Bring a blanket to sit on the grass during the reading session and pack water bottles to stay hydrated while the kids play afterward. This is an excellent weekday morning outing because it combines a structured, educational activity with open-ended playtime at one of Raleigh's premier playgrounds.
