Image: Depositphotos National Night Out is a program that encourages local police departments to connect with the community in a fun way, and encourages the community members to stand together for safety and awareness. The official date is the first Tuesday in August, although not all communities hold their National Night Out event on that date. Some National Night Out events are for the general public and some are for members of specific communities or neighborhoods. The City of Raleigh is hosting a National Night Out celebration on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Tarboro Road Community Center, 121 N Tarboro Street, Raleigh, North Carolina. It's free to attend. The event includes free food, family fun and resources. It is a chance to learn about different things going on in the community. This is also a partnership with the Raleigh Police Department.
