Journey to Antarctica!

Date: Tue, Sep 8, 2026

Time: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Venue: Main Library – Innovation Lab, Durham

Price: Free

Category: Community

Penguins! Parkas! Phenomenal science! Join us in the Innovation Lab (3rd floor) at Main Library for a presentation and discussion with Margaret Milikin, a logistics expert who works at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. Learn about Antarctica's wildlife, life at McMurdo, and what type of career path could lead YOU to this icy paradise. Registration is required. We recommend this program for tweens (ages 9-12), teens, and adults. Please note, parking may be limited due to other library programming. If needed, you may park in the Queen Street Parking Deck (115 N. Queen St.) and the Library will validate your ticket. If you have any accessibility questions or accommodation needs, please contact Jennifer at Accessibility_Services@dconc.gov. We ask that, if possible, all accommodation requests be made at least three (3) business days prior to the event.
