The Choral Society of Durham is the city's largest chorus, with 160 singers. The Durham Symphony Orchestra is the city's largest orchestra, and the Durham Armory is a landmark building in downtown Durham. Together, these three quintessentially Durham organizations will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the tragedy of 9/11 by performing Mozart's Requiem on September 10, 2026. This piece was performed shortly after the Twin Towers were attacked in 2001. It is a recognizable piece, associated with grief and redemption.
