Wildlife of North Carolina Photography by Shreyes Chalasani Artist's Statement: I’m a 17-year-old self-taught wildlife and landscape photographer based in North Carolina. Since moving here from California in 2021, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the state’s diverse wildlife and natural landscapes. Although I’ve always been fascinated by nature, I began photographing it only a few years ago. I’m especially drawn to birds, reptiles, and amphibians, and my experiences in wildlife conservation and rehabilitation have deepened my understanding of these often-overlooked species. Through my photography, I hope to inspire curiosity, appreciation, and conservation by encouraging others to discover the beauty of North Carolina’s wild places.
