Wake County Board of Commissioners Candidate Forum

Voters will have an opportunity to hear from Wake County Board of Commissioners candidates for two new at-large seats plus candidates from district 2 during a nonpartisan candidate forum on October 3rd. LWV of Wake County is hosting the forum, along with several community partners. The Board of Commissioners is growing from seven to nine, adding two at-large seats. At-Large candidates include: Christine Kushner, Mona Singh and Gary Dale Hartong. District 2 candidates, Safiyah Jackson and John Adcock, will also participate. While districts 1, 3 and 7 are also on the ballot this year, candidates for those districts are incumbents running uncontested. LWV of Wake County is hosting the event with Raleigh-Apex NAACP, North Carolina Asian Americans Together (NCAAT), El Pueblo and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Raleigh Alumnae Chapter. ABC's Michael Perchick will moderate the forum and ask candidates questions focused on Wake County issues, helping to inform voters prior to casting their ballots. The event is free to the public and light refreshments will be provided. Voters can find their sample ballots, as well as candidate and election information on VOTE411.org, the League of Women Voter's nonpartisan voter resource.
