Explore geodes in this hands-on tween program inspired by the Summer Reading theme “Unearth a Story." We’ll start by learning what geodes are and how they form. Participants will then take part in a crystal‑growing simulation experiment, creating their own crystal formations to mirror the natural process. Finally, the adventure continues as everyone cracks open rocks. Will yours be a geode filled with dazzling crystals? There’s only one way to find out!

Registration is required. Geared towards ages 8-13, siblings welcome. Children under age 11 must have a parent/guardian accompanying them.

Note: If you have any accessibility questions or accommodation needs, please contact us at Maker_STEAM@dconc.gov. We ask that all requests be made at least 3 business days prior to the event to ensure we can provide the best accommodations possible!
