Do you enjoy playing video games? Have you never played a video game but always wanted to try one? Youths ages 7-12 years and their caregivers are welcome to join Ms. Natalie for some in-library gaming on the Nintendo Switch! We will provide games and a Nintendo Switch at the program. Snacks will be provided, too. Registration is appreciated, but it is not required. Switch It Up! is a free, one-hour social gaming event where kids can play Nintendo Switch games together at the library. Hosted by Ms. Natalie, the program welcomes both experienced young gamers and absolute beginners who want to try console gaming for the first time. This event is designed specifically for children ages 7 to 12 and their caregivers. It takes place in the Southwest Meeting Room at the Southwest Regional Library in Durham, which offers plenty of free on-site parking. The library provides all the necessary consoles, controllers, games, and snacks, so you do not need to bring any equipment from home. While registration is helpful for headcount purposes, your family can still drop in without a signup. It makes a smart weekday addition to your calendar because it offers a structured, indoor social outlet for older kids. Since the library provides everything, parents can simply sit back, connect with other local caregivers, and let the kids bond over friendly cooperative play.
