The Sunflower Field is FREE to visit and to take pictures at (but don't cut the sunflowers.) The field serves as a massive pollinator habitat for bees, butterflies and other wildlife. During peak bloom, the fields also attract lots of people! You can expect to see many other sunflower-lovers when you visit. After the bloom is over, the sunflowers are left, so that birds and other animals can eat the seeds all fall, before Raleigh Waters clears the field and plants a winter cover crop. It is free to visit 7 days a week, from dawn to dusk. The address is 1700 Umstead Drive, Raleigh, North Carolina. On weekdays from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., use Public Parking Lot A. On evenings and weekends all lots are available. Sunflower Celebration On Saturday, July 11, 2026, Dix Park is hosting a Sunflower Celebration from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. It's free to attend. Enjoy family-friendly fun surrounded by the big beautiful blooms! There will be special activations, live entertainment, and activities for all ages, food and drinks from local vendors.
