In this beginner friendly class students will learn how to make the Half Moon Ring from start to finish! Brass and copper are included in the material fee of $15, paid directly to the instructor upon arrival. If students would prefer to work in silver or 14k gold filled, they can pay a material fee of $10 and purchase the metal directly from the instructor during class. Techniques students will be learning:-How to use the torch to “anneal” or soften the metal-Hammer/ texturing techniques-Forming a ring-Intro to soldering and ring sizing-Finishing and polishing with the flex shaft and bench polisher *Nanette’s studio has both AC + heat depending on the season! Jeweler & Instructor: Nanette PengelleyNanette is a queer, Jamaican-American metalsmith and jeweler from south Florida. She went on to study in Quito, Boston, and Florence. After graduating from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2015 with her BFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing, Nanette has been exploring her practice within her brand, Hew Jewelry.
