Join Duke Forest Senior Program Coordinator Erin Hecht for a guided tour of the Shepherd Nature Trail, the Duke Forest’s introductory interpretive trail. This tour offers both new and seasoned Duke Forest visitors the opportunity to gain deeper insight into the area’s human and natural history and into the Forest’s important teaching and research mission. Erin will invite participants to reflect on the land’s past and present and consider the roles we all play in shaping this forest over time.In the event of rain: The tour will be moved to Wednesday, September 16th 5:30-7:30 PMAudience: This tour is geared toward adult audiences (ages 18+). Any minors interested in participating must have a parent or guardian present and have an active interest in the subject.Accessibility: The Shepherd Nature Trail is a 0.8-mile loop in total. It is considered easy for an average hiker. However, it includes unpaved walking surfaces (gravel and dirt footpaths), short uphill and downhill sections, and foot-bridge crossings.Limited to 20 people
