Give your frayed and holey jeans or denim shorts new life with visible mending. Using embroidery and sashiko hand sewing techniques along with scrap fabric and embroidery, sashiko, or Perle cotton thread, you will mend your favorite jeans or denim shorts adding unique hand-sewn details at the same time. Feel free to bring your own fabric scraps for stabilization or throw caution to the wind and use our large stash of fabric scraps. Previous embroidery or sashiko experience is helpful but not mandatory. Supplies Needed: Sashiko, Embroidery, or Perle Cotton thread in your choice of color or colors, Sashiko or sharp steel crewel/embroidery needle with a large eye, and jeans or denim shorts to be mended. Supplies Provided: Basic sewing notions and tools for use in class. Bring a friend - we have a 4 person minimum for a class to take place! This class is open to students 12+.
