The SciREN and Educator Open House is an annual networking event that connects local teachers with scientists to share classroom-ready lesson plans based on current research. Attendees can meet directly with researchers, museum staff, and community partners to gather new ideas for school curriculum and learn about upcoming field trip opportunities. This event is designed specifically for schoolteachers, homeschool educators, and informal instructors rather than children. Admission is free and includes dinner along with complimentary beverages. The event takes place at the downtown Raleigh museum, where street parking is free after 5:00 PM, though the nearby Green Square parking deck is also a convenient option. It is an excellent weekday outing for local educators looking to refresh their lesson plans and connect with peers in a relaxed setting. You will leave with practical, state-aligned resources that you can introduce to your students the very next week.
