School's Out Camp: Winter Animals is a full-day science and nature program at The Nest in Chapel Hill designed to keep children active and learning when school is closed. Kids will spend the day exploring the outdoors and learning how local wildlife survives the coldest months of the year through interactive lessons on hibernation, migration, and physical adaptations. This program is designed specifically for children ages 4 to 8 and runs from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Registration is $100 for non-members and $80 for members. Parents should pack a nut-free lunch, two snacks, and a refillable water bottle, and dress their children in layers suitable for outdoor play. Parking is available on-site at the facility. This camp is an excellent option for working parents who need reliable childcare during school breaks. It offers a structured, educational environment where kids can socialize and stay active outdoors instead of spending the day in front of a screen.
