<p>Relax and read with a dog and other animals! This program brings dogs and other animals together with emergent readers for 15&nbsp;minutes of companionship. Handlers and their dogs provide&nbsp;quiet encouragement to children so that they might&nbsp;develop a love of reading and&nbsp;improve communication&nbsp;skills.&nbsp;</p> <p>This program is geared towards elementary students, but all ages are welcome! This program will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10a.m.- 12p.m at North Regional Library. The address is 221 Milton Rd. Durham, NC 27712.</p> <p>Please note that you may book one session per day, and sessions are 15&nbsp;minutes long. Available time slots are as follows:<strong> 10: 00a.m, 10: 20a.m, and 10:30a.m.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Registration is required. Please call Molly at 919-560-0234 or email mschaefer@dconc.gov with your preferred day/ time and your contact information.&nbsp;</strong></p>
