Pottery Mug is a two-hour, hands-on workshop at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre where participants learn to craft their own ceramic cup or mug using hand-building techniques. Instructors guide you through the shaping process, and you will select a glaze color to finish your piece, which will be ready for use in your kitchen after firing. This class is designed for participants ages 16 and older, making it a great fit for a mother-teenager date or a solo morning out. The registration fee covers all clay, glazes, and kiln firings, so you do not need to bring any supplies. Free parking is available in the lot directly adjacent to the Renaissance Centre on Brooks Street. Taking a weekday morning to work with clay is a grounding way to break up the school week. You will leave with a durable, dishwasher-safe mug that serves as a daily reminder of your creative efforts.
