Poetry on the Porch is a free community literary event featuring award-winning author and New Yorker poetry editor Kevin Young reading from his latest work and discussing Southern culture. Held on the historic porch of the Center for the Study of the American South, the evening includes a live conversation with editor Regina N. Bradley, complimentary refreshments, and a book signing. This event is best suited for high school students, college kids, and parents who appreciate contemporary literature. Admission is free, and Letters Bookshop will be on-site selling copies of Young's books. Parking is available in the nearby campus decks or along Franklin Street, which is just a short walk from the venue.
