Piraguas!: K-5th Adventures

Piraguas!: K-5th Adventures is a free, hands-on afternoon workshop where elementary school students can design and build a custom game inspired by the traditional Puerto Rican shaved ice treat. What to Know: This program is designed specifically for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. While the event is entirely free, space inside the library room is limited. You must pick up a physical ticket at the Youth Services Desk starting at 3:30 PM on the day of the event. Parking is available in the adjacent parking deck, which offers easy stroller access and direct entry to the library. This weekday afternoon activity is a smart way to bridge the gap between school dismissal and dinner. It gives kids a creative outlet to work with their hands, and you can easily pair the library visit with a walk to the nearby Downtown Cary Park afterward.
