Open Mic Night is a monthly community performance showcase held in the intimate Green Room at Theatre Raleigh. Local artists take the stage to share music, theater pieces, and spoken word in a supportive, casual setting. Sign-ups for performers begin at 6:30 PM on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to those who did not perform the previous month. The event is free to attend, making it an affordable outing. Because of the open format and mature themes that can sometimes arise in live performances, this event is best suited for parents and teenagers rather than toddlers. It makes a wonderful Sunday evening choice because it offers a low-key, creative way to wind down the weekend while supporting the Triangle's local performing arts community.
