Trackers will be available beginning August 24th. How it works: You have until November 30th to complete at least four of the five challenges listed on the tracker. You can join in at any time during September, October, or November! You can do any type of exercise or physical activity you like! Use your tracker to track the number of minutes you exercise. For each challenge on the tracker you complete, bring your tracker in to South Regional Library or North Regional Library to claim your completion button for that challenge. You will also receive a lanyard upon your first visit. (while supplies last). If you prefer, you can claim them all at the end of the challenge. The One Walk to Rule Them All Exercise Challenge is a self-paced, fantasy-themed fitness program hosted by the Durham County Library system. Running through November, this activity encourages participants of all ages to log their physical movement and earn collectible rewards along the way. To participate, stop by the South Regional Library on Alston Avenue or the North Regional Library on Milton Road to grab a physical tracking sheet. You can also request a digital copy via email. Kids can choose any type of movement they enjoy, from backyard soccer to neighborhood bike rides, and log their active minutes. Once a milestone is reached, bring the tracker back to either library branch to claim a completion button. This is an excellent weekend option because it turns routine physical activity into a game. It gives kids a tangible goal to work toward during your weekend park visits, and the library visits to collect the buttons make for an easy, cost-free Saturday morning outing.
