What is One Walk to Rule Them All Exercise Challenge? This is a self-paced, Lord of the Rings-themed fitness initiative hosted by the Durham County Library system to encourage active lifestyles. To participate, stop by the South Regional or North Regional library branch to pick up a physical tracking sheet, or request a digital copy online. Kids and parents can log any type of physical activity, from backyard soccer to neighborhood walks, to complete four out of five challenges by November 30th. For each milestone reached, bring the tracker back to either library branch to collect a themed button. The program is entirely free and open to all ages and fitness levels. This is a smart weekend pick because it turns daily exercise into a game. It gives kids a tangible goal to work toward during your regular park visits and neighborhood walks over the autumn months.
