Food is an enduring part of human experience and stirs up memories and associations, well beyond its practical function in our lives. Join us for a writing experience where we will explore ideas and imagery related to food and cooking.Registration is requested. If you signed up for the Sunday meeting, please do not sign up for this meeting.
Oberlin Writers' Group: Food & Cooking is a free community writing workshop held at the Oberlin Regional Library in Raleigh. Participants will gather to discuss and write about the memories, traditions, and sensory details associated with food and cooking. This program is designed for adults and teens who want to practice their writing skills in a supportive group setting. Registration is required ahead of time, and organizers ask that you only sign up for either this Tuesday evening session or the Sunday session, not both. The library offers free parking in its dedicated lot, and you should bring your favorite notebook and pen or a laptop to write on. Taking a weekday evening for yourself to write is a wonderful way to recharge. It is a quiet, structured space to connect with other local writers and put your family food traditions onto paper.
