Every fourth Thursday, @raleighbikepolo brings all the extra gear and cheer to the courts to embolden the next generation of community leaders. Come out to the courts with a helmet and willingness to try something new and we'll bring the rest.
Newbie Night at Raleigh Bike Polo is a free, hands-on clinic designed to teach beginners the basics of bicycle polo in a supportive environment. The local club hosts these sessions to introduce the community to the sport, providing all the specialized gear you need to get started on the court. What to Know: The event takes place at the Tarboro Road Park outdoor courts. It is entirely free to attend, and the organizers supply the extra bicycles, mallets, and balls. You must bring your own helmet to participate, and wearing closed-toe shoes is highly recommended. While the sport requires some basic bike-riding confidence, teenagers and adults of all skill levels are welcome to play. This is an excellent weekend pick if you want to break out of your usual routine, try a high-energy sport, and connect with a welcoming local athletic community without any financial commitment.
