Morehead Planetarium & Science Center's presents Carolina Skies is a live, staff-led star show that teaches visitors how to identify constellations and planets visible from their own North Carolina backyards. What to Know: This event is free to attend and takes place on Saturday, October 3, from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The planetarium recommends this program for adults and children ages nine and older, as the dark environment and presentation style are not suitable for younger children. You can find parking in the paid lots along Franklin Street or in the nearby Rosemary Street parking decks. This is an excellent weekend option if you want to transition your middle schoolers from passive screen time to active learning. It offers a calm, educational environment to spark an interest in astronomy before you head out to dinner in downtown Chapel Hill.
