Enjoy a guided tour of the 1785 historic home listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Moorefields was built as the summer home of US Supreme Court Justice Alfred Moore, the second and last Justice from North Carolina, and a founder of UNC.In the 20th century the home was restored and maintained by artist Edward Draper-Savage, who designed the formal gardens and created a cemetery for his beloved cats.Stroll the grounds and gardens and visit both the cemetery of the Moore family, as well as the cemetery of Draper-Savage and his cats.
