The first edition of Mi Éxito, Mi Camino, bringing together the traditions of Mi Éxito, La Universidad and Continuando Mi Camino! Mi Éxito, Mi Camino is a bilingual (English/Spanish) postsecondary exploration event for middle and high school students and their families. The event will feature colleges/universities, community-based organizations, employment opportunities, and guest speakers for participants to start planning for their futures and learn about the resources available to them. Mi Éxito, Mi Camino is hosted by the Emily K Center’s Game Plan: Future program in collaboration with the North Carolina Society of Hispanic Professionals, LatinxEd, and UNC Greensboro.
Mi Éxito, Mi Camino is a bilingual postsecondary planning event designed to help middle and high school students explore college and career paths. Hosted at the Emily K Center, this resource fair combines academic planning with career exploration, offering a direct connection to university representatives, local employers, and community organizations. Spanish and English speakers will be on hand to guide parents and students through the transition to higher education and the workforce. This event is best suited for students in grades six through twelve along with their parents. Admission is entirely free, and you do not need to bring anything other than a notebook to jot down information. The Emily K Center is located in downtown Durham, and while there is a small on-site parking lot, you should plan to utilize nearby street parking or public decks if the lot fills up quickly. If you have a teenager who is starting to think about life after graduation, this is a highly practical way to spend a Saturday afternoon. It condenses weeks of research into a single afternoon, allowing you to ask direct questions to academic advisors and career mentors in a supportive, community-focused environment.
