Learn to take fresh or scrap silver and make it into something beautiful. Have you inherited a piece of jewelry that you would never wear or found some silver at an estate sale? Turn it into something more exciting! Or start with a fresh piece of silver and learn how to melt it, fold it and bend it into a ring, bracelet or pendant and if you don’t like what you’ve made, melt it and start over! Final pieces can be clean and polished or organic and look like they were forged in the breath of a dragon – it’s entirely up to you. No experience is necessary. Please note that 80% of the class cost will go towards silver which you will be able to keep. Bring old silver jewelry or scraps you may already have. Enough sterling silver will be provided to make one bracelet or a few rings or pendants and more material will be available for purchase. Due to the fluctuating cost of metals, this class may have an added materials fee for extra materials that you use.

Melted Silver Jewelry is a hands-on metalsmithing workshop at ShopSpace where participants learn to melt, fold, and shape sterling silver into custom rings, bracelets, or pendants. Under professional guidance, you can work with fresh metal or bring in your own scrap silver and outdated family heirlooms to transform them into something new. This three-hour class is designed for beginners ages 14 and older, making it a creative weekend outing to share with your teenager. The registration fee is $220, which covers instruction and enough sterling silver to complete a few small projects or one larger bracelet. Teenagers under 18 must register and attend alongside a parent or guardian. Wear closed-toe shoes and natural fibers, as you will be working with high-heat torches. It is a productive way to spend a Sunday together, learning a tangible trade skill in a real maker space. You leave the studio with finished, polished jewelry and the confidence to try a new craft.
