For Tweens & Teens in Grades 6th – 12th. Please Note: Tweens in 5th grade can use the gaming area only if they are accompanied in the area with an adult age 18 and over.
Main's Teen Gaming Area is a free weekly social event where local students can play popular console video games together at the library. Located at the Durham Main Library, this drop-in program is designed for students in grades 6 through 12. Gamers can play cooperative and competitive titles on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One S, and Nintendo Switch. Fifth graders are also welcome to join the fun, but they must have a parent or guardian stay with them in the gaming zone. This event makes a smart Friday afternoon stop because it provides a structured, indoor space for teens to unwind after the school week ends. Since it is completely free and requires no prior registration, it is an easy addition to your weekend transition plans.
