Main's Teen Gaming Area is a free weekly drop-in event where middle and high school students can play popular video games together at the Durham Main Library. This event is designed for students in grades 6 through 12, though fifth graders can participate if a parent or guardian stays with them in the gaming space. There is no cost to play, and all consoles, controllers, and games are provided by the library. You can park in the library's dedicated lot, and no registration is required ahead of time. It makes a smart Friday stop because it gives older kids a safe, structured place to unwind with peers after a busy school week. Plus, you can easily combine it with a quick trip to browse the book stacks before the weekend starts.
