Jazz in the Square with Turnabout Players is a free outdoor community concert held in the center of downtown Raleigh. It is an easy way to introduce your children to live music in a casual setting where they do not have to sit still. This event is open to all ages and costs nothing to attend. Street parking is available around the perimeter of the square, or you can use the nearby Wilmington Street Station parking deck. Pack your own lawn chairs, picnic blankets, and kid-friendly snacks, though you can also purchase dinner from the on-site food trucks and drinks from the beverage carts. It makes a great addition to your calendar because the early evening timeframe allows you to enjoy the music and still get the kids home in time for their usual bedtime routines.
