Each Sunday, from 2p - 4p. No pre-registration is required, however if your group will be larger than 4 people, please send a quick email at theteam@brightblackcandles.com with the number in your party and the time/date you'd like to attend, so they can make sure they're ready for you and your group. Please note: if your group will be larger than 6 guests, please work with their team to schedule a private event.
What is Hot Wax on Tap, Drop-In Candle Making? This is a weekly Sunday afternoon workshop where visitors can walk in and pour their own custom-scented candles at the Bright Black studio in Durham. If you plan to go, keep in mind that no reservations are needed for groups of four or fewer. For groups of five or six, you must email the studio ahead of time so they can prepare your space. Because of the hot wax and precision required for scent blending, this activity is best suited for teenagers and adults rather than toddlers. Street parking is available nearby, and you should plan for the candles to need curing time before they can be taken home. This workshop makes a great weekend stop because it offers a calm, hands-on activity to wind down your Sunday. You get to support a local Black-owned business while creating a custom item for your home.
No reservation is needed for groups of four or fewer. If you have five or six people, email the team ahead of time, and for groups larger than six, you will need to book a private event.
Is this activity suitable for young children?
Because participants handle hot wax and delicate fragrance oils, this workshop is best reserved for older children, teenagers, and adults.
