Celebrate the unveiling of a new historical marker honoring the Cape Fear & Northern Railroad, which rolled through Holly Springs in the early 1900s. The Holly Springs Academy, one of the area's first schools, capitalized on the connectivity, bringing in students from around the region. The historical marker will be located near the location of the original depot, near the intersection of Avent Ferry Road and Ballentine Street.
