The Hillsborough Harvest Festival is a community celebration featuring live music, local food trucks, and handmade goods on the grounds of the historic Burwell School. Guests can listen to performances by Pickard Mountain Bluegrass and the Sugaree String Society while browsing items from local artists and makers. Beer and wine will be available for purchase at this outdoor event, which runs rain or shine. If you are planning to attend, tickets are twenty dollars for adults, ten dollars for teens ages thirteen to seventeen, and free for children twelve and under. You will need to bring your own lawn chair or blanket to sit on the lawn. Proceeds from the event benefit the Elizabeth Keckly Historic Site at Burwell School and WHUP 104.7 FM. This is a wonderful weekend option because it combines relaxed outdoor music with a chance to support local history and community radio in a historic downtown setting.
