Each month, we explore a different (sub)genre, and you choose to read any book that fits that theme--no assigned reading here! Then, join us on the second Wednesday of every month at Boxyard RTP. Grab yourself a drink or snack as we discuss what we read and the genre as a whole. The book club meets outside, so dress for the weather! The Genre of the Month Book Club is a monthly gathering in Durham where participants read any book of their choice that fits a designated monthly theme. Instead of assigning a single title, the group explores a different genre each month, allowing you to select a book that actually interests you. Meetings take place on the second Wednesday of the month at Boxyard RTP, specifically at the outdoor tables located next to RTP Uncorked and the elevator. Because the group meets outside, you should dress according to the weather. You can purchase your own drinks or snacks at the venue to enjoy during the discussion. October's theme is Gothic Horror, and November focuses on History. This meetup offers a relaxed way to connect with other local readers without the pressure of a strict reading assignment. It is a low-stress opportunity to step out of your usual routine, grab a drink, and discover new book recommendations from neighbors.
