, LLC Mordecai Historic Park, at 1 Mimosa Street, Raleigh, North Carolina, includes the Mordecai House, which is the oldest house in Raleigh in its original location. It was built in 1785. It became a public park in 1972. The park also includes: Cure barn ca. 1840 Plantation Office ca. 1840 Ellen Mordecai Garden ca. 1842 Mordecai Spring Allen Kitchen ca. 1842 Andrew Johnson Birthplace ca. 1800 Badger Iredell Law Office ca. 1810 St. Mark's Chapel ca. 1847 Bouchall-Danielson House ca. 1917 The park encompasses 3.2 acres in the heart of downtown Raleigh. Tours cost $8 for adults, $5 for youth. Kids 6 and under are free. , LLC Upcoming Events Free Friday at Mordecai Historic Park Friday, August 28, 2026 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free Tours include the Mordecai House, Andrew Johnson's birthplace, St. Mark's Chapel. The first tour will begin at 10 a.m. and the last tour starts at 3 p.m. Tours start every 30 minutes and are limited to 20 people on a first-come, first-served basis.
