This workshop gives participants the opportunity to further explore the art of blacksmithing and advance their forging skills. The goal of this class and further sessions will be to improve heat and hammer control which will boost your understanding and ability to move hot metal. Techniques will be introduced like bending, upsetting, forging leaves and more. We will introduce new tools such as bending forks, swage blocks, and a cone mandrel and cover how they aid in shaping metal. The Forging Intro class must have been completed before you may sign up for this class.

To sign up, participants must be at least 14 years old and have already completed the introductory forging class at ShopSpace. Registration is $85 per person, and because you will be working with hot metal, you should wear closed-toe shoes, natural fiber clothing like cotton, and tie back long hair.
