Special Olympics of North Carolina is teaming up with the Durham Police Department and Durham Fire Department to present the inaugural First Responders Unified Softball Showcase: Police vs. Fire-- an exciting community event highlighting the power of Unified Sports by bringing Special Olympics athletes and first responders together on the same team. As part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run program, participating officers and firefighters are fundraising for Special Olympics North Carolina leading up to the event, with every dollar helping provide year-round opportunities for athletes across the state.
