The Fall Harvest Festival at Epworth United Methodist Church in Durham is a free community gathering featuring children's activities, games, and seasonal snacks. Located at 3002 Hope Valley Road, this afternoon event is best suited for toddlers through early elementary schoolers who will enjoy the bounce house and simple crafts. If the weather does not cooperate, the organizers will move all the activities inside the church building, so you do not have to worry about checking the radar before you leave the house. This is a smart pick for a Saturday afternoon because the two-hour window is short enough to fit between naptime and dinner. It offers a low-stress, neighborhood feel where kids can burn off some energy without the massive crowds of the larger regional festivals.
