The ESOL Intermediate Level Class is a free, twice-weekly language course designed to help non-native speakers improve their English communication skills. Hosted in partnership with the Durham Literacy Center, these sessions focus on practical speaking, reading, and writing skills for daily life in the Triangle. To attend this class, you must first complete a placement test directly with the Durham Literacy Center, as library registration is currently closed. The class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Conference Room 3214 at the Main Library in downtown Durham. Parking is available in the library lot, and you should bring a notebook, a pen, and any materials provided during your placement evaluation. Taking time for personal growth is a smart way to start your week, and mastering a new language helps you connect more deeply with your children's teachers, neighbors, and the local community.
