Don Smith first appeared at Sacred Grounds at the turn of the New Millennium and has been a regular artist here for over 25 years in two different trios, in various one-off collaborations, and as a solo performer. Local audiences know him well for his storytelling songs as well as the accompanying stories that he often relates. For this show, he returns to the stage with his good friend and Durham resident, Jack Deason. Those of you who saw Don’s show with Eric Thomas in January will remember Jack as the gentleman who joined Don on stage with his mandolin to play accompaniment on the quirky pop favorite “Stuck in the Middle With You”. Tonight, they’ll be joining forces for an entire evening of all-acoustic pop, country, bluegrass, and traditional folk music on guitar, mandolin, and octave mandolin. Mark your calendar now to be here for what should be a really good show. The Coffeehouse opens at 6:30pm; concerts start at 7:30pm. Each concert, beverages and desserts are all by donation!
