A muse, a landmark, a monument to the passage of time - an ‘89 Monte Carlo decked out in John Deere insignias and iconic colorway has been parked across from Super G Print Lab’s current location on East Main Street in Durham, NC since its opening in 2022. There's been rumored sightings of it on the road, in motion, in all its glory, but it's few and far between. Ownership unknown. Super G Print Lab is an anchor of the printmaking community in North Carolina. As one of the only studios dedicated to teaching screen printing in the region they provide education, community, and open studio hours to printers of all levels. Founded by Bill Fick over a decade ago, the studio’s current iteration is cooperatively run by local artists and members - some of whom are a part of this exhibition at Peel Gallery this August. This exhibition is the Super G's artists' expression of love for its neighborhood muse in the best way they know how - printmaking.
