What is Day Out With Thomas™️ at the NC Transportation Museum? This seasonal event allows children to ride on a full-sized train pulled by Thomas the Tank Engine and meet Sir Topham Hatt. Tickets are $31 for everyone ages two and up, and advance purchase is highly recommended because popular departure times sell out quickly. The event is best suited for toddlers and preschoolers who are fans of the franchise. Parking is free on-site, and the museum grounds are stroller-friendly, though you will want to bring a carrier for boarding the train itself. It makes an excellent weekend trip because it combines the excitement of a real train ride with outdoor play zones, photo opportunities, and access to the rest of the transportation museum.
