Big Kid Storytime is a weekly evening program at the Southwest Regional Library where staff read aloud from a selected chapter book. Designed specifically for older kids who have outgrown traditional picture book hours, this session allows independent readers to relax and listen to a story in a group setting. This free program takes place in the Children's Programming Room and is best suited for children ages 7 to 12. You do not need to register in advance, and a small snack is provided for the kids during the reading. The library has a dedicated parking lot with plenty of spaces, making it easy to get in and out quickly on a school night. While this is a weekday evening event, it makes a great addition to your weekly routine to help kids wind down before bed. It offers a screen-free way for older kids to build their listening skills and connect with peers in a quiet, welcoming environment.
