Art Making: Frida Kahlo Art Making Workshop is an afternoon art history and painting class for youth held at The Cary Theater. Participants will spend the first half of the session analyzing Kahlo's use of symbolism and color to express identity, followed by a guided studio session where they paint their own inspired masterpieces. This drop-in style workshop is best suited for school-aged children and teenagers who can focus for a ninety-minute instruction period. Tickets start at $11 per person, and all painting supplies are included in the registration fee. Free parking is available in the parking deck directly behind the theater on Town Hall Commons Place, or along Chatham Street if you want to grab a coffee beforehand. It is a smart weekend pick because it combines an educational art history lesson with a hands-on creative outlet, keeping kids focused and productive on a Saturday afternoon while you enjoy downtown Cary.
