A Matter of Balance is a structured group program designed to help older adults manage falls and increase their activity levels. Developed in partnership with the Duke Trauma Center and the Durham Center for Senior Life, this session focuses on practical strength, balance, and safety strategies. This free program takes place in the South Meeting Room at the South Regional Library in Durham. Because this is a cumulative series, participants should plan to attend the consecutive sessions leading up to this final date. The library offers free parking directly in the main lot, and attendees should wear comfortable clothing and supportive closed-toe shoes. While this is not an event for young children, it is an excellent resource to share with local grandparents or aging family members who want to stay active and independent. Helping the seniors in your life access these community resources is a wonderful way to support their long-term health and mobility.
