Come learn basic woodworking with the ArtsCenter's own facilites and grounds manager, Harold! We will be building a great learning experience bench which will be made from 4 - 2x8x8 pressure-treated lumber. This is a beginner wood craft build. Over the 2 days you will work in pairs to build 2 benches per group, which you can then take home. We will learn how to read plans, tool safety and wood selection. $80 materials fee (paid at registration) covers all tools and supplies necessary. We will be working outside under a shelter, please dress for the weather. In case of bad weather reschedule plans will be communicated with registrants via email. Tentative rain date is the 18th. Age 15-17 welcome if accompanied by a guardian. 18+ if unaccompanied. Parents/guardians may accompany without registering if they intend to help only, but must register and pay if they wish to make their own bench.
