Wednesday Computer Class @ Main is a free, self-paced digital literacy workshop held in the computer lab at the Durham County Library. To get the most out of this session, participants should already know how to use a mouse and keyboard. While the library has a few laptops available, you should bring your own laptop and a pair of headphones so you can focus on your individual learning modules. A staff member stays in the room to help you navigate the Northstar Digital Literacy platform, where you can earn certificates in programs like Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, and email basics. Taking time for professional development can be tough during a busy week. This evening class offers a quiet, structured environment to build your resume or learn how to navigate your child's school portal, all before the weekend starts.
